Edisto Beach South Carolina

It was a fun week at the beach for the Hossler clan as we traveled to SC for some beach time. We enjoyed the company of Mark's brothers and Eric's girlfriend Nichole as well as Grandma, Pop, and Grandpa the Great. Everyone was so patient and helpful with the boys so we were so thankful for that. The weather was surprisingly good except for the last day where the power went out due to the storms. Jacob loved hanging out with Grandma doing puzzles, playing trucks, hitting golf balls, and playing in the "bubbles." He also had fun riding his tricycle (yeah his short legs finally reach the pedals) with Grandpa the Great on their daily walks and reading Thomas the Train.  Noah was a trooper and just chilled with everyone, but made sure to make a lasting spit up impression on everyone and everything he encountered. (a side note- all of his spitting up is not stunting his growth in the least bit- I weighed him this morning and he was a hefty 16.5 lbs beating his brother at that age by almost a pound. Look out Jacob- Noah is going to be a BIG little brother). Mark and I took daily bike rides which was so nice and it was flat too which was amazing. I was able to jog in the morning and get a good break with all of the excellent helpers. Sleeping was typical vacation sleep- not all that great. Mark and I decided to do separate rooms- Mark with Jacob and me with Noahy so that made it tolerable. All and all it was a very successful vacation although we are always glad to come home. We missed our furry babies here. I feel very blessed to have Mark home with me more over the summer. We plan on doing some things around the house that we have been meaning to do for ohh 4 months- about when our precious Noahy arrived :)

I am a Big Boy...Maybe Not

So Jacob had a big day yesterday. He tried out roller skating at the hockey rink. He did not like it at first but then actually did pretty well and took some steps with mommy and daddy on both sides. He looks super cool in his Diego roller skates and pads (thanks Mamaw and Pawpaw). He also has taken a new found interest in Noah's things- his Jumperoo and his infant seat in the Target buggy.Check out the video- I feel quite proud of my technological skills (haha) of being able to post a video. I know I am probably encouraging this behavior by taking pictures of him- but it gave me quite a laugh so I thought I would share. Other big news in the Hossler household- today is Mark's last day of work before summer break. Yeah Mark. Although, he spent most of the day home with me and the boys yesterday and I think he is ready to find a summer "job" outside of the home :)

Strawberry Pickin

Today we went to Adam's Farm Strawberry patch. Jacob loved picking the berries right from the plant and got fairly good at not picking the "smooshy" ones. He also got to see the lawn mowers which drew Jacob's attention as much as the strawberries. The serious picture of Jacob looks so much like Mark. Mark has that exact expression. J also looks so much older to me. Maybe it is because Noah is so little so I compare them, but my baby is becoming a big boy :( I thought the picture of J and Mamaw was so sweet. He loves his Mamaw and Pawpaw and gets so excited when we see them. We will be definitely be back to the farm. Great entertainment for $2 and we got a great snack too!

PTC International Tri

It was an eventful weekend as we completed the PTC International Tri. It was a blast and would have been even better had I been able to beat my husband- but there is always next time- look out Mark I coming to get you! All and all everyone did great. I came in last place amonst the 4 of us so that was hard for my competitive side but I was glad we all made it safely across the finish line. The swim seemed long as I zig zagged my way around the buoys. Rebecca and I were able to ride some together on the bike which was great. She also proved to be an invaluable assistant as I could not manage to put back my back water jug and she graciously pulled over to help her most uncoordinated sister. Our transitions were not exactly brief but they were great photo ops :) Mark had a great swim and blew by us on the bike. He proved to be too hard to catch on the run which was quite upsetting. I love this new found sport just wish I were better at it. It makes me want to go play some tennis as I am a little more competitive at that sport. We are all signed up for the 1/2 Ironman in Augusta so yeah- it got to go up from here!!!! Watch out we look pretty intimidating in these pics :)

Mother's Day Weekend and Noah's Baptism

It was a very nice weekend. Daddy got some much needed R and R with his brothers up in Baltimore. He got to see 2 Yankee's games and also sleep without the oh so fun bed buddy Noah. He came home a little more rested and refreshed which was good. The boys and I went up to Aunt Boo and Jeje's house and had a nice dinner in Atlanta. It was a little harried since we seemed to be situated 2 inches from the tables next to us but managed to avoid being thrown out of the resturant. We all got together on Sunday for Noah's baptism. He did very well- as in did not spit up all over the minister, which he does constantly at home :) We then came over to my parent's house for a honey baked ham feast. Dad got all the mother's gorgeous flowers (in the picture) and the girls went to get nails done, in honor of mother's day. It was good to all be together. I got a great picture of the boys today which is the last one I posted. Jacob climbed in back of Noah and it was the sweetest thing ever!!

Happy Birthday Pawpaw!

It was a great weekend as we celebrated Dad's 56th Birthday! We started out the  weekend with a long bike ride in PTC. We went on the International Tri path in preparation for the event in 2 weeks. It was pretty challenging and had quite a few hills. Dad and Mark were very patient with Rebecca and I and didn't leave us in the dust like they could have. Mawmaw was a trooper and watched the boys and brought Noah to me when he needed to nurse- very sweet. We all were walking a little funny after the ride but we made it! Then we tanked up at Ted's and headed back home for some R and R. Kind of- since mom was making a gourmet meal and cake- the preparation began early. We had yummy beef stroganoff and a carrot cake from Jenny that was amazing. Dad opened his presents with the help of Jacob, who handed him each one. Dad is now a fashion plate on the tennis court and has quite a collection of stylin tennis polos and gear. The next morning the sisters went for a run ( who would have thought 2 years ago we would all be running- not me) and then played some tennis. We are all getting ready for the summer season of mixed doubles. The boys and I swam and it was quite interesting swimming with the 2 of them at the same time. Noah I don't think appreciated the cold water on his toes. It was so nice all being together- I have really come to appreciate these times as it is so hard to coordinate everyones schedules.  This last pictures is of Noah checking out Daddy's chicken parmisan with fork in hand. I think it is safe to say he is going to be an eater- no worries there :)
